At Cleveland Stadium, the Cleveland fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Carl Scheib(8-12) finally bested his New York opposite, Ned Garver(10-9), by
the score of 2 to 1.

Cleveland had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning. The
critical plate appearance was by Andy Pafko who brought a roar from the
partisan Cleveland Stadium fans when he doubled bringing home two
baserunners. The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

Dave Koslo recorded the save, his 3rd. Garver was hit with the loss. He
allowed 2 hits and 7 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
