In a great finish the seemingly unstoppable Cleveland Indians came back in the
top of the ninth and held on to win over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7
to 6 at Crosley Field.

Bob Lemon(19-8) pitched well for Cleveland in their victory.  He allowed 6
hits and 5 walks in 7 innings.  Cincinnati was out-hit by Cleveland, 14 hits
to 11.  

Fred Martin preserved the game for Lemon, recording his his 20th save.  Randy
Gumpert(5-11) was hit with the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 3
walks in 6 innings.  

In another of a string of victories, Cleveland extended their winning streak
to 8 games.
