Willie Jones ripped 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the mighty Pittsburgh Pirates
defeated the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 9 to 5 at Forbes Field.

Jones enjoyed a great day at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 2nd inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 6th inning and bombed
a two-run dinger in the 7th inning. Overall Pittsburgh out-hit Cincinnati 14
to 10.

Ed Lopat(11-12) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Ken
Raffensberger(8-11) took the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 8 innings.

'I felt great out there today' Jones said. 'I was seeing the ball perfectly,
and I was right on it with my swing.
