Third baseman Bill Joyce had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Boundary Field as the
Washington Senators beat the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 9 to
6.
Washington took the lead for good in the 3rd inning as they scored 2 runs on 3
base hits. Cincinnati had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
John Malarkey(4-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 6 runs. John Gilroy recorded the save, his 1st. Tom Parrott(9-16)
was hit with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 8
innings.
