St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the top of the 4th inning scoring 2 runs. Tuck Turner led off and keyed the rally when he tripled, and an error was also committed, which scored a run. After an out was recorded, John Houseman came to bat and drew a walk. Bill Hallman then called for a steal which was successful. Cy Seymour then let a pitch get away from him scoring the final run of the inning. New York threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. The win went to Hart(6-22) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Seymour(13-12) was tagged with the loss. 'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Hart said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
