Bill Magee went the distance and Charlie Dexter had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as
the Louisville Colonels defeated the St. Louis Browns by a score of 7 to 6 at
Eclipse Park.

Louisville scored the winning runs in the 8th inning with 3 runs using 3 hits.
Billy Clingman started the inning off right when he ripped a single.
Malachi Kittridge followed next and he reached on an error. Magee then laid
down a sacrifice bunt. Fred Clarke followed and he delivered a single
knocking in a run. Clarke was running on the next pitch and he stole second.
After another out, Louisville continued their aggressive style with another
stolen base. Dexter stepped into the batter's box and he smacked a one-base
hit which was good for two more runs. St. Louis had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.

The victory was credited to Magee(9-13) who went the distance, allowing 6
runs. Kid Carsey(3-7) took the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 2
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.

'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Magee said,
'this was one of those times.'
