Third baseman Mike Mowrey had 4 hits as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the
reeling Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 8 to 6 at Exposition Park.

Jake Weimer(11-9) pitched a fine game.  He allowed 8 hits and 6 walks in 8 and
2/3 innings.  Pittsburgh had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Weimer got help from Bill Essick who earned his 6th save.  Bill Duggleby(2-7)
was the losing pitcher.  It was another victory for Cincinnati at Exposition
Park.  Now their winning streak stands at 6 games.
