Vic Willis pitched 9 strong innings at Exposition Park as the Pittsburg
Pirates won in their last at-bat beating the Chicago Cubs by the count of 2
to 1.

The game was won by Pittsburg with a run in the 9th inning.  Tommy Leach drew
a walk.  Honus Wagner was next and he doubled.  Mordecai Brown then threw a
wild pitch resulting in a mighty exciting win for Pittsburg and the 8,910
home town fans in attendance.  Neither team was able to score until the 6th
inning.  

The win was credited to Willis(16-9) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
Brown(22-2) was given the loss.  He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings and surrendered
5 hits and 2 walks.
