Ty Cobb was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He doubled emptying the bases in the 2nd inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in the 4th inning and ripped a single in the 9th inning. New York-NL had 15 hits for the afternoon. The victory went to Willis(18-9) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The loss was charged to Glenn Liebhardt(11-12). He allowed New York-NL 7 runs in 5 innings of work.
