Rube Waddell went the distance at Huntington Ave Grnds as the Boston-AL Red
Sox beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 5 to 2.

Philadelphia-AL was unable to climb back into it after Boston-AL went ahead
for good in the 2nd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits.  Boston-AL
totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Waddell(7-18) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Ed Summers(11-14) ended up with the loss.  He allowed 4 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.
