The Cincinnati Reds got by the New York Yankees at Crosley Field. The final
score was 7 to 5.

Cincinnati had 4 runs cross the plate in the 6th inning. The critical plate
appearance was by Danny Murtaugh who excited the crowd when he stroked a
base-hit which was good for two runs. New York out-hit Cincinnati 11 to 7,
but Cincinnati ended up with more runs.

The win was credited to Satchel Paige(6-3) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing
no runs. Preacher Roe earned the save, his 31st. Spec Shea(4-5) absorbed the
loss in relief.
