Morrill enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He ripped a single bringing home two baserunners in the 5th inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 6th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning. Boston kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning with 4 runs on 4 hits, the 6th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score 6 runs on 8 hits. Boston had 21 hits for the afternoon. The win was credited to Buffinton(19-22) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs. Old Hoss Radbourn(20-25) was given the loss.
