Pud Galvin had a strong outing and Fred Carroll slammed a homerun and had 2
RBI as the Pittsburgh Alleghenys bested the Boston Beaneaters 10 to 1 at
South End Grounds.

In the top of the 2nd inning Pittsburgh went on top for good as they scored 3
runs on 4 base hits.  That early scoring was all that Galvin(20-12) needed.
Pittsburgh dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.

The loss was charged to Old Hoss Radbourn(13-13).  He gave up 10 runs in 9
