The Brooklyn Grooms and the St. Louis Browns locked up in an exciting one-run
game at Eastern Park.  The final score was the Brooklyn Grooms 6, the St.
Louis Browns 5.

Brooklyn took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 2nd inning as they
scored 2 runs on 1 base hits.  St. Louis made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.  

Brickyard Kennedy(2-7) allowed 5 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Dave Foutz recorded his 2nd save.  Pink Hawley(5-2) was the losing
pitcher.
