TEAM RISP- Pirates: 15 for 30 Giants: 1 for 9

Ed Poole pitched a complete game and second baseman Claude Ritchey had 5 hits
and 5 RBI as the strong Pittsburg Pirates clobbered the outmatched New York
Giants, 26 to 2.

Ritchey provided much of the offense. He ripped a base-knock which was good
for two runs in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 4th
inning, ripped a single bringing in a run in the 6th inning and laced a
base-knock which scored a run in the 7th inning. Pittsburg provided plenty
of action in the 1st inning when they had 6 runs on 6 hits and the 2nd inning
which saw them score 7 runs on 3 hits. The Pittsburg offense poured it on,
scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

The victory was credited to Poole(4-4) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
The losing pitcher was Larry Hesterfer(0-1). He was touched for 30 hits and
6 walks in 9 innings.

Pittsburg continued their winnings ways improving their record to a league
leading 71-39. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With this loss, New
York has a 3-7 record of late, 46-64 overall.
