Christy Mathewson went the distance at Polo Grounds where the incredible New
York Giants beat the Boston Beaneaters 7 to 2.

Boston never recovered after New York took the lead in the 2nd inning scoring
3 runners on 2 hits.  That early run support was enough for Mathewson(24-10)
and New York.  New York rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.  

Kaiser Wilhelm(7-20) took the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 4
walks in 8 innings.
