Charlie Chech was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the floundering St. Louis
Cardinals by a score of 10 to 7 at Robison Field.

Cincinnati went ahead for good in the 4th inning when they scored 3 runs on 3
hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Harry Steinfeldt who silenced
Robison Field as he stroked a base-hit bringing in two baserunners.
Cincinnati had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6
separate innings.  

Chech(14-6) finished the game allowing 7 runs in the victory. Chappie
McFarland(10-13) was hit with the loss.  He was knocked around by Cincinnati,
allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.  

The Cincinnati ballclub's record now stands at 70-54.  St. Louis has a record
of 64-64 after the loss.
