Nap Rucker went the distance and Harry Lumley had 3 base hits as the Brooklyn
Superbas defeated the league door-mat Boston Doves by a score of 8 to 2 at
Washington Park.

Brooklyn came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning as they scored 6
runs on 6 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Bill Bergen who
excited the crowd when he tripled with all three runners coming home.
Brooklyn finished with 9 hits in the victory.  

Rucker(14-14), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Patsy
Flaherty(6-14) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 7 hits and 1 walk in 7
and 1/3 innings.  

Brooklyn now has a record of 48-74.  Boston has a record of 43-81, worst in
the league after the loss.
