Birdie Cree lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 5 RBI and Earl Moore
allowed only 3 hits resulting in a big goose egg on the scoreboard for
Detroit as the Chicago-NL Cubs clobbered the outmatched dreadful Detroit
Tigers, 14 to 0.

Cree had a good day at the plate.  He clubbed a three-run home run in the 1st
inning and hit a single bringing in two baserunners in the 2nd inning.
Chicago-NL had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6
separate innings.  

Moore(11-12) was credited with the shutout. Earl Hamilton(6-13) was given the
loss.  He was touched for 17 hits and 5 walks in 7 innings.
