One run was the difference at Huntington Ave. Grds as the Boston Red Sox
defeated the New York Highlanders in 10 innings 5 to 4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  Boston ended up winning
it in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Larry Gardner doubled.
After another out, Walter Lonergan came up and he lined a one-base hit making
Boston the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  For the game
Boston out-hit New York 11 to 8.  

Charley Hall(12-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing
no runs. Jack Quinn(8-11) was the loser in relief.
