In a tight game it was the sizzling Chicago ballclub 8, the Indianapolis
Hoosiers 6 at Greenlawn Park.

In the top of the 6th inning Chicago scored 6 runs when they had 4 base hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Art Wilson who silenced the stadium
when he doubled emptying the bases. Indianapolis threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.

Mike Prendergast(7-6) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Prendergast got relief help from Max Fiske who gained credit for his
2nd save. Cy Falkenberg(27-5) was charged with the loss. He pitched 9
innings allowing 12 hits and 1 walk.

Bill Phillips was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
