what he started and was credited with a complete game at Griffith Stadium
where the Washington Nationals beat the Cincinnati Reds 10 to
7.
Spahn(14-13) pitched well enough to earn the win. He went 9 innings
surrendering 14 hits and 1 walk. Cincinnati made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Preacher Roe(8-17) took the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 10 runs in 4 innings.
