In a dramatic ending the Cleveland Blues staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Buffalo Bisons by the count of 8 to 7.

Cleveland scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 5 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Jake
Evans who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he delivered a base-hit
bringing home two baserunners. Hugh Daily(16-20) got help from Jim McCormick
who pitched great and earned his 1st save.

Pud Galvin(33-30) was tagged with the loss. He surrendered 8 runs and 12 hits
in 9 innings. 'The only way this one could have been better', said Daily,
'was if we had played it at home.'
