Gus Weyhing had an impressive outing as the Philadelphia Athletics outscored
the Kansas City Cowboys 4 to 1.

Philadelphia took the lead off Frank Hoffman in the first inning scoring 2
runs using 3 hits. Curt Welch got things going when he was hit by a pitch.
Welch was running on the next pitch and he stole second. After an out was
recorded, Harry Stovey then smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Denny Lyons
came up and he laced a base-knock. One out later, Lou Bierbauer came to bat
and doubled scoring the final run of the inning. That was all Weyhing(22-13)
needed. Philadelphia managed 8 hits in their victory.

The loss was charged to Hoffman(0-6). He allowed 4 runs and 8 hits in 8
innings.
