Lave Cross hit 2 doubles and had 4 RBI and Jack Taylor tossed a complete game
at Baker Bowl as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the league door-mat St. Louis
Browns by the count of 11 to 4.

Philadelphia took the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 2 hits. Philadelphia banged out 13 hits on the afternoon.

Taylor(20-11) finished the game allowing 4 runs in the victory. Ted
Breitenstein(17-24) was charged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 13
hits and 6 walks in 8 innings.

No one has been able to stop Philadelphia lately as they lengthened their
winning streak to 6 games. Arthur Irwin was in a talkative mood after the
ballgame. 'Fellows, I don't know what to tell you. our guys are just playing
lights out lately. Everything and everybody is just really hitting on all
cylinders. I know it can't last forever - but that isn't going to stop us
from trying!'
