The Brooklyn Dodgers edged the Philadelphia-AL Athletics at Washington Park by
the score of 3 to 2.

Brooklyn scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning when they came up with
3 base hits. They would prove to be the difference in the contest.
Philadelphia-AL threatened in the 9th but Brooklyn was able to put down the
rally.

George Suggs(13-13) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Christy
Mathewson gained credit for his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was Barney
Pelty(7-7).

Despite losing Andy Spector was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
