Sox defeated the reeling Washington Nationals in 11 innings by the score of
12 to 8 at National Park.
The game was deadlocked at 8 after nine full innings. Boston-AL came out the
victor in the 11th inning. The critical plate appearance was by Vitt who
silenced the stadium when he tripled emptying the bases. Boston-AL had 18
