Hermanski was a one-man wrecking crew. He cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd inning, ripped a one-base hit in the 6th inning and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run in the 6th inning. New York out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 11 hits to 7. The win went to Ken Raffensberger(13-2) who allowed no runs in 5 innings. Rip Sewell(10-4) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the New York offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. 'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Hermanski said. 'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
