WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Buddy Rosar blocked the plate, saving a run!
Top 2nd: Ellis Kinder robbed Vern Stephens of a base hit.

Right fielder Joe Dimaggio ripped 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the red-hot
Washington Nationals outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 10 to 4.

Dimaggio really lit it up for Washington. The Pittsburgh fans let him have it
for what he did to their boys. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning,
lined a base-hit which scored a run in the 6th inning and launched a
three-run homer in the 7th inning. Washington finished with 10 hits while
Pittsburgh ended up with 6.

The victory went to Bob Feller(10-12) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Ellis Kinder(8-11) ended up with the loss. He allowed just 3 hits and no
walks in 5 innings.

'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Dimaggio said. 'Whenever
I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
