Elmer Flick jacked one out of the ballyard and had 6 RBI and Al Orth allowed
Bill Shettsline to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Baker Bowl as
the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Pittsburg Pirates by the count of 12 to
4.

Flick made sure the Philadelphia fans enjoyed themselves.  He launched a
three-run homer in the 1st inning and delivered a base-hit bringing in a run
in the 5th inning.  Philadelphia had a total of 12 hits for the game.  

The winning pitcher was Orth(18-9) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Deacon
Phillippe(17-9) was tagged with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 12 hits and 7 walks in 8 innings.
