The Chicago Whales nipped the struggling St. Louis Terriers 2 to 1 at
Handlan's Park in a hard fought contest.
The game was won by Chicago with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Tex Wisterzil banged out a single, and an error was also committed.
Les Mann followed and he slapped a single. Mann was safe at second on a
stolen base. Joe Weiss followed next and he stroked a base-hit scoring the
run. Chicago finished with 7 hits in the victory.
Claude Hendrix(15-11) got the win allowing 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings. Dave
Black earned the save, his 4th. Ed Willett(4-5) was hit with the loss in
relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in
his 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
