Eddie Foster had 3 base hits as the sizzling Washington Nationals topped the
reeling Philadelphia Athletics in 12 innings by a score of 3 to 2 at Shibe
Park.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Washington won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning. Danny Moeller stroked a single. Moeller was
running on the next pitch and he stole second. Joe Bush then threw a high
and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled a passed ball. Foster
came up and he smacked a single scoring the run. Washington had a total of 9
hits for the game.

Doc Ayers(11-5) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Bush(4-11) was
the loser in relief. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 4 innings and not
allowing an earned run.

Washington remained hot, improving their record to 73-54. They now have a
record of 10-0 in recent days. Philadelphia continued their losing ways and
their record is now 33-92, worst in the league. They are 1-9 in their last
