went the distance at Municipal Stadium where the Kansas City Athletics beat

It was a good day for Kansas City thanks to Piersall. He doubled which scored
a run in the 1st inning, doubled plating two runs in the 3rd inning and
doubled resulting in a run in the 5th inning. Both teams finished the game
with 13 hits.
Johnson(5-4) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Steve Gromek(7-13)
was the loser. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 8 runs in 5
