Jim Curtiss had 3 base hits and 4 RBI and Kid Carsey tossed a complete game as
the Washington Statesmen defeated the Columbus Solons 12 to 8 at Boundary
Field.

Washington had the game winning rally in the 8th inning when they tallied 6
runs on 5 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Curtiss who made the
Washington fans a happy lot when he delivered a single which was good for two
runs.  This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the
lead kept changing - 5 times in all.  

Carsey(8-33) lasted until the end allowing 8 runs for the win. Phil
Knell(22-22) ended up with the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 17 hits and 5
walks in 8 innings.
