Carl Lundgren allowed Frank Selee to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Chicago Cubs topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 12 to 5 at
Exposition Park.

Chicago jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits.  Both teams totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Lundgren(14-5) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs.
Jack Pfiester(0-1) took the loss.  He was unable to control the Chicago
offense and allowed 11 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.
