beat the floundering New York-NL Giants 9 to 8.
Cincinnati scored the winning runs in the top of the 8th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Abbaticchio
who silenced the crowd when he stroked a single which was good for two runs.
New York-NL tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
The win was credited to Lew Moren(9-7) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Christy Mathewson earned his 1st save. Orval Overall(16-12) was the losing
