The New York Yankees bested the Washington Nationals by a 8 to 5 score at
National Park.

Washington was unable to climb back into it after New York went ahead for good
in the 7th inning plating an isolated run using 2 hits.  New York had 11 hits
for the afternoon.  

Ray Caldwell(5-6) got the win allowing 5 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Caldwell
got help from George McConnell who earned his 2nd save.  Joe Engel(12-12)
suffered the loss.  

This win by New York continues their recent hot streak.  In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2.  For the season, they are 50-78.  With this
loss, Washington has a 4-6 record of late, 65-65 overall.
