In a tight game it was the streaking Brooklyn Dodgers 4, the Cincinnati Reds 2
at Crosley Field.

Brooklyn jumped on top of Cincinnati in the 2nd inning plating one baserunner.
After two were out Vic Wertz took charge himself, delivering a solo home
run. Brooklyn totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.

The win went to Jim Hughes(6-3) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Connie Marrero(6-2) was the loser. He served up 3 gopher balls in 4 innings.

Brooklyn added another win to their mounting winning streak. Roy Purcell was
thrilled following the game -- 'We're really on a roll now. These guys are
playing their hearts out and I couldn't be happier for them!'
