Beckley had a big day against Philadelphia. He doubled in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit bringing home two baserunners in the 3rd inning, laced a base-hit plating a run in the 6th inning, laced a single in the 8th inning and tripled which brought home a run in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning when they had 6 runs on 7 hits, the 6th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits. Pittsburgh managed 28 hits in their victory. Morris(15-6), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss was charged to Ben Sanders(12-14).
