Center fielder Bobby Lowe had 3 base hits and 6 RBI and John Clarkson went the
distance at South End Grounds as the spectacular Boston Beaneaters
embarrassed the Cleveland Spiders by the lopsided score of 14 to 4.

Lowe had a good day at the plate. He laced a one-base hit scoring a run in
the 1st inning, laced a single resulting in a run in the 2nd inning and
doubled which was good for two runs in the 5th inning. Boston banged out 18

The win was credited to Clarkson(29-13) who went the whole way allowing 4
runs. John Shearon(2-3) ended up with the loss. He couldn't find the plate,
issuing 11 walks in 8 innings.
