Duff Cooley had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Vic Willis allowed Al Buckenberger to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters defeated
the Brooklyn Superbas 7 to 2 at Washington Park.

Boston wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3 runners
on 3 hits.  That early scoring held up.  Boston rapped out 12 hits for the
afternoon.  

Willis(8-18) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Ned
Garvin(17-12) was tagged with the loss.  He was touched for 12 hits and 5
walks in 9 innings.
