WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Kip Selbach robbed Freddy Parent of a Homerun!

Long Tom Hughes went the distance and he hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI
as the impressive Boston Americans outscored the Washington Senators 12 to
8.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Hughes. He slapped a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, clubbed a
two-run home run in the 4th inning and doubled which brought home a run in
the 8th inning. Boston had a total of 14 hits for the game.

Hughes(18-9) allowed 8 runs on the game. Casey Patten(9-20) took the loss. He
surrended 4 homeruns in his 8 innings. This win by Boston continues their
recent hot streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 9-1. For
the season, they are a league leading 75-44. Still in a bad slump, with this
loss, Washington is 2-8 lately and 37-82, worst in the league on the year.
