Doc White pitched a complete game at American League Park as the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics beat the Washington Nationals by the count of 4 to
1.

Philadelphia-AL scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning when they came up with 3 base
hits.  Amby McConnell got things going when he laced a one-base hit.
McConnell took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.  Boss Schmidt
followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Solly Hofman came up and he drew a
walk.  After another out, Al Bridwell stepped in and he doubled scoring two
teammates.  Charlie Hemphill added to the outburst and drew a walk.  Frank
Schulte next to the plate and he banged out a single scoring the final run of
the inning.  That was all the runs White(9-18) needed.  Philadelphia-AL
totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.  

Eddie Cicotte(15-7) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 7 hits and 9 walks.
