The Chicago Cubs defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 7 to 3 at West
Side Park.

Orval Overall(16-13) earned his pay with a solid performance for Chicago.  He
went 8 and 2/3 innings and surrended up 8 hits and 4 walks.  St. Louis made
it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Johnny Lush(10-15) ended up with the loss.  'Just one or two mistakes were all
it took to beat us today' Roger Bresnahan said.  'We take these games one day
at a time, but this one was hard to take.'
