TEAM RISP- Browns: 2 for 11 Orioles: 2 for 12

Tom Vickery tossed a complete game as the Baltimore Orioles came back to win
one over slumping St. Louis Browns, 5 to 4.

Baltimore scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 base
hits. Wilbert Robinson led off and got things going when he slapped a
one-base hit. Piggy Ward was next and he reached on an error. Cub Stricker
then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Billy Shindle was up next and he reached on
an error knocking in a run. Shindle took off for second and slid in with a
stolen base. George Van Haltren joined his teammates in the uprising and
drew a walk to load the bases. After another out, Harry Stovey came to bat
and delivered a single making Baltimore the victor and beginning a joyous
home town celebration. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change
hands 5 times.

Vickery(5-8), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss
was charged to Pink Hawley(5-4). He allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3
innings.
