Lou Criger had 2 base hits and Cy Young came through with a solid 9 innings as
the blistering-hot Cleveland Spiders bested the Pittsburg Pirates 2 to 0 at
Exposition Park.

Cleveland took the lead for good in the 2nd inning scoring one runner.  That
early run support was all that Young(27-5) required.  Cleveland finished with
7 hits in the victory.  

Jesse Tannehill(17-16) took the loss.  He surrendered 2 runs and 7 hits in 9
innings.  'Young took our guys to school' Bill Watkins said. 'Too bad he
doesn't pitch for us - it would make my job a whole lot easier!'
