Freddy Parent had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Cy Young was able to finish what
he started and was credited with a complete game as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics bested the Cincinnati Reds 12 to 3 at Palace Of The
Fans.

Philadelphia-AL took the lead for good in the 6th inning as they scored 4 runs
on 4 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Parent who silenced the
crowd when he hit a single scoring two baserunners.  Philadelphia-AL banged
out 16 hits on the afternoon.  

Young(20-16), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Harry
McIntire(7-14) was tagged with the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 16 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings.
