TEAM RISP- Yankees: 2 for 8 Reds: 3 for 12

First baseman Ralph Kiner slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at Crosley Field as
the New York-AL Yankees pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Cincinnati
Reds by the count of 8 to 7.

New York-AL scored the winning runs in the 9th inning when they tallied 5 runs
on 5 hits. The big moment was provided by Eddie Robinson who silenced the
stadium when he smacked a three-run homer. New York-AL and Cincinnati each
finished the night with 14 hits.

The winning pitcher was Bob Kuzava(8-6) who allowed 2 runs in 3 innings.
Kuzava got relief help from Jim McDonald who gained credit for his 4th save.
Vern Bickford(5-12) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 3
hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.

Robert Baker was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office
after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just
sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating
wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
