Bob Hooper had a complete game as the Boston-AL Red Sox bested the pathetic
Washington Nationals 13 to 4 at Fenway Park.

It was a good day for Boston-AL thanks to George Kell. He laced a base-hit
plating two runs in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning and tripled
bringing home two baserunners in the 6th inning. Boston-AL had a total of 13
hits for the game.

The win went to Hooper(7-11) who allowed 4 runs in the game. Carl Erskine(4-7)
ended up with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 5 walks in 3
and 2/3 innings.

'I just got in the box, looked for a pitch and swung,' Kell said. 'That's it'
