Frank Sullivan went 9 solid innings as the Cleveland Indians defeated the New
York-AL Yankees by the score of 6 to 0 at Municipal Stadium.
Al Kaline enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He cracked a two-run shot in
the 1st inning and doubled which was good for two runs in the 7th inning.
Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
Sullivan(8-11) was credited with the shutout. Vern Law(7-7) took the loss.
'Sullivan was the man tonight,' Mel Gross said. 'He had just about every
pitch working.'
